2011 Mustang 6, 42,000 mi. Impossible to steer last Monday. Thought it was a straightforward power steering failure. Dealer replaced steering gear (?). I've owned a lot of vehicles, but only one other Ford ('67 Mustang in 1967). Never had to replace a steering gear on any vehicle ... certainly wouldn't expect to at 42,000. Is this a familiar Ford or Mustang problem? Cause?

 

I've never heard of that either, that must or been a exhilarating ride. Glad your ok, but what did the dealer say about that.

 

never head of the issue, My 2011 V6 has 25k miles no problems. Just for kicks did you try the different "steering modes" Standard, Sport, and comfort to see if the problem got worse or got fixed?
