I think the argument about hids being illegal is invalid there's brand new cars with them (poorly aimed I might add) so they are legal they just have to be a certain color and light output
I'm amused that somehow engineers are smart enough to design every bit of the car you love so much, but are too stupid to understand how that car works.
Cases in point, GM key FOBs and ignitions.
oh wait... those are being recalled because they were engineered without understanding the consequences of size and placement.

I believe the illegal comments were directed towards the blue lights. Which I do believe are illegal in some states.
HIDs are legal otherwise the dealership would not sell them in a given state.
