When I did the Mark VIII swap into my GT it seemed to be running great until I hit about 40-50 mph then it chugged like a freight train.
The fellow who came and tuned my car, James Gordon w/ Tuning by James was riding along and asked if it always did that and I said "yes". Without missing a beat he said, "That's your egr". Because of the dick dance involved in adapting the Mark VIII egr to the GT he went ahead and deleted it from the programming and so far so good. The mileage suffers but I really don't care about that too terribly much.
So, yes, I have seen the EGR present the symptoms I think you are experiencing.

I have found the problem. Its my spark plug wires. at night the wire has a spider web of arcs to the block. At least 2 of the 6 wires are doing it; possibly 3. On the coil pack side, the wire is solid white from the energy leaking out. I wont know for sure for about 2 weeks. I will post the results then.
