Default overheating problems on my 97 Gt

Car is overheating, the thermostat is new, no leaks, the only thing I can't figure out is if the water pump is working. Is there any tests I can do at home to see if water pump is running?

under what conditions is the car over heating? driving, idling? is your fan coming on? is it only over heating with the ac on?

start the car, and get it warm, turn on the heater on high heat, is it hot? if so then the pump is pumping. there is still the off chance that the coolant is so worn out that electrolysis is occouring and the pump impeller has been corroded and can no longer keep up, the only way to tell that is to pull the pump and inspect.

Coolant is new and does blow warm air, the car didn't do this until I charged the A/C system with freon. I had cold air and the car ran fine for a few days then started over heating at just idle and red lights, now she can get hot even on the highway.
I'm so confused😩

since it still gets hot at highway speed, i would try running it without the ac on, if the overheat issue goes away, then i would suspect that your radiator is partially plugged and that the extra heat load from the condenser is pushing your cooling capacity over its limit

That's just it, I haven't used a/c since it first overheated. And my electric fan works but blows fuses randomly. I replaced the ECT sensor because that was fried. And the fan only works when the a/c is on.
