Unhappy HELP! Driver and Passenger Windows Oxidized? Or Hard Water Spots?

These windows look so bad when the sun hits them. What is the best way to remove this crap? It looks way worse in person.

1. Drive it by a good auto glass shop & ask their opinion.

2. The is a product called Micro Gloss for polishing hard plastics like aircraft windows. If the glass is scratched do to sand/dirt in the window guides over the years it might help with a lot of elbow grease in polishing. The windows may just need replacing. i doubt you want to hear that! Most every restoration needs new glass if you want it to look its best!

I think I'd try some 000 or 0000 steel wool and see if you make any headway with that.

Get some Bon Ami powdered cleanser (http://www.bonami.com/). Make a thin paste and scrub the windows lightly, rinse and repeat as necessary. Takes the water spots and other accumulated road crap right off and does not scratch the glass.

I've used rubbing compound on a buffer before, takes it right off. You can do it just as well by hand with a microfiber towel, I just happen to have a buffer so that's what I use when the opportunity arises.

NO ..... don't use steel wool.

Look for a yellow bottle, blue looking label, product called "SPOT-X" .... made from crushed sea shells. Harder than the minerals yet not as hard as the glass .... so no scratching glass. Very easy to use and works beautifully.

I bought it at Home Depot in kitchen wares I think. Ace Hardware also has it here. My '07 FX4 had terrible water spotted glass when I got it, this stuff eats it off fast and easy.
