Default Paint Care

I have an 06' with a black clearcoat... I was using a dry microfiber towel dipped in some warm water to remove what looked to be sap/tar/bugs w/e on my spoiler and rear bumper. Under sun light I noticed the action was creating small surface scratches!!! Is this due to the large dirt particles getting caught in the towel and abrassively scratching the paint? Or should I have used a bug & tar remover (like tuff stuffs)? I thought microfiber towels were intended to be scratch free?

sounds like you had a dirty rag.

get some good buffing compoud the real fine stuff i think its "final rub" if you use 3M it should tak care of those swirl marks. next time use the bug and tar remover it will lift the crap off with out damaging your paint.
