no battery and door won't open with key
My husband has a 2010 GT convertible. He had the battery out and shut and locked the doors. He went to unlock the door a couple days later so that he could pop the hood, but the key won't work (neither did the spare). We tried WD-40, but no luck. Is there a way to unlatch the hood from the outside? We've had horrible luck lately and need a miracle!!

When I worked with fleet vehicles I'd get the occasional older vehicle come in with the same problem, key-lock not turning. Operators would always use the remote fobs to open/lock doors. The lube in the lock cylinder combined with maybe some road dust would dry up and not allow the cylinder to turn. I would then remove the lock cylinder and try to clean them in solvent.

This thread is a good shot over our bows to use our keys to manually open the doors once in a while to make sure they still work and keep them lubed so we don't wind up in a mess like the OP.
