Default 2002 Yellow GT with body damage, is it worth it?

I found this 2002 GT with semi-supercharged V8 and 121,000 miles; that has body damage. The seller told me it hit a fire hydrant, and the frame was repaired. It is now only cosmetic damage. It was listed for $4000, but i talked him down to $3000. How much would it cost to have the body damage either corrected or replaced? Im wondering if its worthwhile to invest in.

That quarter panel won't be cheap. I had one done back in about 2012, total bill was near $3600. Replaced quarter panel, blend adjacent panels.... Looks like that car will need a door too. And depending on the condition of the rest of the paint they probably will not be able to colormatch the new stuff so now that makes it a complete respray. Done right, $5,000 easy. And I think that's being a bit conservative. Take it to a body shop and get an estimate is really my best advice here.

Well, for $5000 you can get that Saleen, and spend the other 1200 on another V8
motor, and you got yourself a nice rust free from CA stang... Wish I had it, AND
a garage top put it in... Guy said he'd ship it to me... Yeah, right... Would cost
as much as the car...

What kind of frame damage are we talking about here? I'd get that thing on a lift before I shelled out a nickle for it.

Luckily that quarter panel isn't part of the roof or C pillar. But they weld those on. Door skin would need replace, not the whole door.

Might take pics to body shop get a really ROUGH estimate on their thoughts.

Keep in mind, below the rear quarter panels are additional body support pieces....stuff adds up!
