It is entirely possible that the sensor is bad even though it's brand new. Seems that as of late a few people have had issues with new electronic components either being bad out of the box or failing after short amount of time.

Two things I would suggest, go back to the place you bought it from and let them know it has failed. They should exchange it for a new one under warranty. If the problem persists then you could have a fuel pump issue. If the pressure from the pump itself is not being maintained and is dropping below what it should be, it would trip as a Fuel pump pressure (sensor) problem. .
