07 cooling temp sensor and fan issue
Hi I am looking for some help on my 07 4.0 base convertible mustang.
I notice that I am not getting the fan to turn on . I am smoking from the radiator . My water pump was making a noise and the stat housing was leaking so i replaced them both and also the sensor for the coolant in the housing and the thermostat and gasket . Previously the fan was still not turning on when this was found to be happening.
I am leaking under the intake i know of that problem will also be addressed later as I do not think thats causing the fan not to turn on .
my gauge is showing normal middle line temp not over heating and i can control the fan using KOEO.
when I use KOER it does not turn on the fan at all.
Issue that I am seeing is the computer can control the fan but I am not getting a sig from the input to turn it on, making it not cool the coolant. When replacing the waterpump I ran it for almost a hour and when I get it up to around 3000 rpm trying to burp the system it starts to over flow as if there is a air bubble coming out. If anybody has a type of wiring diagram of how the cooling system works that could help quite a bit as any youtube videos I find are output issues and I already checked fuses and relays additional to the reistor block on the fan housing and it looks fine. I even used my cheap wal mart old scan tool to use the computer to turn it on and that works.

I decided to upload this wiring digam for people in the future who have this issue or may. You may thank me later
NOTE: It is not necessary to recover the refrigerant before removing the dual-function pressure switch. It separate sets of contacts that are opened at 2 different pressures. The first set on contacts in the duel function pressure switch is used to interrupt the AC compressor operation in the event if excessively high discharge pressure in the high-pressure side of the refrigerant system.
The pcm monitors the first set of contacts in the duel function pressure switch and the ac cycling switch though the accs circuit. When the accs circuit is open, the pcm will disengage the ac compressor clutch.
The 2nd set of contact in the dual function pressure switch is used by the pcm to engage the HS cooling fan. The pcm monitors the second set of contacts through the acp circuit. When the ac pressure rises above a preset level, the second set of contacts will close and the HS cooling fan will engage.
If you look on top the of wiring diagram labeled as manual climate control you will see they both use the SAME DUEL PRESSURE SWITCH !
what led me to this is i unplugged the sensor and the fan turned on .
Why I unplugged it? Well I replaced the brand new sensor with a warranty one and saw the temp drop when i unplugged it and throw a code . there for the pcm was getting the input from the sensor.
My next step is to go to the ac side and unplug some sensors and back probe them and see if that will loop the fan to turning on .
My ac system does not work the receiver dryer rotted out due to a brilliant engineer putting a plastic housing around something them sweats .
