Good afternoon, bought a 2004 gt with no history, just had been sitting for like 2yrs maybe 3 covered before I bought it , someone replaced the fuel pump
and filter right before I got it so it would run, no obd codes or flashing O/D, engine is clean and stable , only 73609 miles
i cleaned mafs, and iac , idles around 800.
the issue is when shifting to drive it stalls, unless I increase the rpm to 1000 while I shift, then once engaged it idles normal in drive, I believe it doesn’t do this in reverse, good fluid color and level
I drive around the neighborhood and it’s erratic when shining to 2 or 3rd uphill, if I pull over and shift to neutral then back to drive it may stall again unless I’ve Been driving around For 30 minutes
If I stop the car while In drive, then shift first, then second it may stall , this last symptom may be a hint , I have to test this some more
my , guess , solenoids or neutral safety switch,
it does start in park and neutral,
I haven’t jacked up the car to look yet , just trying to lean in the right direction , thank you
