new wire job
ok guys i got a 64.5 car in teh shop doing a rewire for a friend. for the most part is will be easy but i just do not see where the fuse panel mounted on this car. he took all the wires out and they are laying on the floor. he gt 2 aftermarket kits for this from painless wire and he started to do the job with a 65 kit and then found out it was not correct for the generator setup. so he go a 2nd kit that is said to be correct. i got the harness laid out around the car and being i have to start with the fuse block i need to find out where they mounted it originally? i see 2 holes in the DS kick wall up by a larger square type opening with a clip hanging on that opening but i know there is going to be a plastic cover going over that metal and i do not want the fuse block in the way.
years ago i had a 64.5 vert and my memory tells me the block is on the DS kick panel wall. so can someone please point me in the correct direction for the block so i can at least get that mounted and see how the rest follows.
also in this painless kit has a fuse base that first mounts to the DS panel but it also looks like that has a base and this base slips over that and then the main fuse block then pushes into this back i loaded some photos if they show you may be able to see what i'm talking about more then likely i may have to just fasten this base to the DS metal and go from there.
i have done a few other cars but i used the ez wire kits not the painless kits so the FB is a bit different.
also i did fint the average joe wire directions online and that does show the FB on the DS but it puts that way low on that side and it would be under the kick panel. i guess i can mount it on the lower dash but i do nto think that would be the proper spot. also if you do suggest up on the DS metal should i mount it with the fuses facing out or down? if down i have to fab an angle bracket.
thanks for any help and ideas on the painless fuse block mount on this car
