Dash Cam
As reported in the less-viewed Eco-Boost section, I have a new 2024 Eco-Boost Premium. Other than that, no real extras. That said... I got my new Rexing dash cam (front & rear, High Res). Tool me all of 25 minutes to install it, and set the individual settings. The latest version of software, doesn't allow the entry of Anme and license plate information. I guess that's okay, but I deem that is a step backward. The question remain, however, how many other group members have a dash cam?
I ask for a reason. My other vehicle is 2019 Ranger, rather well massaged, shall I say. The recording from my recent crash, certainly established the other driver was at fault. After all, you shouldn't pass on a double yellow!
So the question is... If you have dash cam installed, has it 'saved' you from prosecution?

I have a Viofo A129 Duo + dash cam. I installed after a minor rear ender when the insurance adjuster asked if I had any dash cam video, which I did not at the time. There was some dispute about fault that would have been completely addressed by a video. I was completely stopped at the time I was hit. Since then I've not had to rely on it myself but it did serve someone else when I captured their accident while waiting at a traffic light. I have caught a couple entertaining idiot drivers though!
You have no idea. My first Dash Cam was in my 2001 Acura 3.2 Coupe. It was basic by today's standards. I've been using a Rexing VIP1 since 2017, and have purchased four units to date (various cars and trucks). I suspect over the years, I've caught at least 100 accidents, dozens of red light runners, one police chase, and one accident involving me. The video clearly showed the other driver crossing the double yellow, and going over the posted limit. It also proved I was not at fault, albeit I was turning left, signal on. She, on the other hand, was on her cellphone non handsfree. Yes, it was well worth the ≈$185!
