aparently you haven't looked at the prices 2 grand might get you a set of heads and cams.

Um. 2 grand is about the price for a 2v forged motor if you do it yourself. That includes aluminum block, ported and polished PI heads, PI intake, and forged aluminum pistons. It be more if you want reduce friction and go with steel cylinder inserts. Yea, if you go with prices from Ford dealer it will come up to 5 grand.

i have seen used alumium blocks go for as cheap as 250 but i have seen them new for 800
the steel crank usualy gets between 4-600
then 500 for a set of rods
300 to 400 for a good set of pistons
cams will run you about 500
then patriot stage three heads 1500 (unless your brave enough to do it your self)
p51 intake 1300
thats about 5k there using ebay and aftermarket parts and havent even got in to the little stuff.

You want a used block there and everything else new. Not good. [:'(] Block $300, reuse crank and the little stuff. Pistons $500, fox lake heads $700, PI intake $200. The rest is easy and cheap, as long as you don't go crazy and buy everything new. I've seen a 2v put together like that, made 320 brake hp with 4R70W strapped to it.

BTW: You don't seem to want everything to work together, instead you want the best, or what you think is the best. P51 intake works best with Fox lake heads and recommended cam, and shorty headers. The 320 hp setup used a simple plastic PI intake.

why would you go through all the trouble of building a motor if all your wanting is 320 hp you can do that with a stock 4.6 with simple bolt ons i assumed you ment you wanted to build something with some real power. the pi intake and heads are only good to a certian point then they need to be ported to alow more airflow.

Um. It takes porting to achieve 320 hp with 2v 4.6L, as well as high compression.

I have seen two valves produce 285 rwhp with out ever breaking a gasket. cold air intake, headers, upper intake, tb, with a dyno tune. THere are a lot of guys on here with similar results.
