Default 1986 Mustang Coupe

I found a 1986 Coupe i'm wanting to buy. I saw a friend from school that graduated last year and I remembered that he had a mustang. He went off to the army and just got back. I asked him if he still had it and he said yeah but he doesn't drive it anymore cause it needs a thermostat and head gasket. He told me that he'd sell it to me for $150. It's a burgundy 4 cylinder 5 speed coupe, never been wrecked, clean title. Are these good cars to use for a V8 swap? I was just planning on putting a fuel injected 5.0 in it. Will the transmission work with a 302? It's the stock transmission that came with the car, not sure if it's a T-5 or not. How hard is a 4cylinder swap to V8? Is it a pretty straight forward swap? He said if he doesn't sell it before he leaves out to pakistan(Jan. 7th) he's gonna take it to the junkyard because it just sits at his dads shop. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

If you don't get it, I might be interested, what state is it in?
I need an 86 Coupe to go with my 86 GT.

for $150 i'd jump on it.

pretty str8 swap....ez'er if you go carb , you can omit a lot of harnesses and electronics.

the 4cyl 5-speed is a t5 , but won't work. different size input shaft and tail shaft.

Yeah I believe i'll wind up going with a carburetor. It'll be a lot easier to work on. If I were to change the bell-housing and pilot shaft, then would the T-5 work?

input shaft is longer too, tailshaft is the same...my bad.

anyways....i don't think it'd be worth it, they are rated about 230 ft/lbs only and would require the input shaft to be replaced...not even positive if you could make it work.

pick up a used t5 and go w/ that. can find them for $200-$300
