yea..i didnt buy the car
In reading this thread, you just dodged a bullet, kiddo!
I have a 95GT with a fresh 331 (~3K miles), fully forged internals, Victor Jr's, brand new clutch, new T5, gears, nitrous, nice Pioneer system and other stuff and I paid $6,500 from a kid desparate to sell. I've thrown about a grand of stuff on it (gauges, fluid flush, tune up, white face gauges, some billet interior bling) and I'm good to go. And the paint is a 5 footer.

So hold out. You'll find a better deal.

I totally agree with GP - that car had problems written all over it. I never mess with anything with a questionable title OR ones that don't appear to have been maintained. If the guy didn't care enough to get the oil changed or fluids done when he's trying to sell it, that says a LOT about maintenance (or lack thereof).

btw...don't assume that a car has been poorly maintained simply because it was driven by a female. I have been a total fanatic about keeping every car I've ever owned in top mechanical condition. Yes, this female didn't do what she should have - but neither did the airplane mechanic. Every gender & age group has people that abuse their cars.

Have you tried autotrader.com? You may find something there and may have to drive a bit if you are in a hurry to get one.
