RE: heres another gear question I know here we go again
steeper gear ratios in the tranny. When you have a 4 speed auto vs a 5 speed manual, most the time the auto has a steeper ratio in first/second then the manual. Its honestly just preference and thats just a generalization. Its not completely accurate, but its a big part of it. That and its easier to hook up in an auto then a stick.. no clutch slip, no dumping the clutch at to many rpms, etc... again not completely true, but its usualy a rule of thumb. Auto's take away driver error on launches a lot better.

an aod has a 1st gear of 2.40 compared to t5 3.35
an aod w/ 4.56 gears = 10.944 total 1st gear
a t5 w/ 3.08 gears = 10.318 total 1st gear
so the aod is SEVERELY lacking gear thats why.
i like 4.10's in a t5 too. will tach about 3 grand @ 75 (both will tach the same)
