"***WHAT U GOT***"
Do you think i could achieve it with what I have to work with? right now all I have for a tranny is a W/C T5. I know its not the tranny for racing 1 bc its not consistent 2 it probably wont hold up to the 351. I realy like to drive the 5 speed but plan on swapping to an auto when funds allow.
You are right on the W/C T5. They were not rated that high in terms of torque and HP. There are however, upgrade kits available now that could probably handle it. You mentioned pistons with "domes". That means that you are planning to up the C/R to make more power. If this is to be a daily driver, you have to be careful, because then you end up having to always run the higher octanes fuels. $$$$. I assume since you mentioned "being consistant" we are talking about my favorite pass time, drag racing. You are right agian, although I know a couple of guys that run T5's that are really consistant. I had one in my 65 Coupe, and I always missed a shift at just the right time. Automatic is a lot easier. How heavy a car? and what kind of gears are you running now?

Yeah, i plan on drag racing. I dont really plan on this car being a "daily driver" but i do plan on hittin the road every now and then. Im running 4:56 gears and the car is about factory weight with the exception of the difference in weight between the 302 and the 351c. i plan on adding a roll cage and removing the back seat. the fuel cell has been moved to the trunk and holds 15 gallons i think, and the battery has been moved to the trunk.
I just started taking mine to the local track and havent quite got the launch down but so far this is the best I can do.

I know my car is good for a much better time so I have to just keep practicing those launches.
