Default ball joint removal

My 89 GT lost the left front ball joint. Luckilly
it happend on my road. Got it home and in
my garage (a little dragging) Got the nut
off and bolt and ball off, but the bottom half of
the joint is still pressed in to arm (now empty).
Does it have to be pressed out? or can I use
heat and bang the remainder of the joint out.
Is there another way or do I need to call wrecker to take
to a real garage$?

Put a jack stand under the control arm and you should be able to drive out the remainder of the joint with a large ball peen hammer. I strongly suggest you borrow a ball joint press/installer kit to install the balljoint. This way it will be seated into the control arm properly and without damage to the Bjoint or Carm.
