Default Pesky Bolts on Driveshaft

The background: 87 GT, stock T-5, aluminum driveshaft

So I need to replace the tail seal on my T-5 and to do so without tearing up the U-Joints I need to remove the driveshaft from where it connects to the rear end. These bastards are on there. I have an impact wrench but am afraid of breaking the bolts. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of what the correct torque specs would be?

I have broken several wrenches getting those thing off. Now I use a 12 point metric socket ( I think it is 12 mm, maybe 13), be sure the socket is an exact fit. Use a 3/8" drive with a short (about 3 to 4 inch)extension. Get the best angle that you can and apply all you got. It should break loose. If not, use a pipe or other "extender" on the ratchet handle. When you put them back in, use blue locktite and get them about as tight as you can with the 3/8" ratchet. Good to go.

Do what he said. I bent my 12mm Craftsman wrench getting those things off with an extention. If I were you break them loose by hand before you use the impact on them.

never use a 12pt on getting a bolt loose unless you went to strip it. get a breaker bar and an impact socket. and hammer it while you try and loosen it.

yes 6 pt sockets dont fit that bolt head, because ford had to be difficult, i managed to get mine off, put the car in gear, and use a 3'8 drive breaker and a 12 point 12 or 13 mm socket dont remember, and just break each one loose
