Default which mustang? help please!

hello, i'm new and glad to be at this forum. i am considering a new car, and a solid mustang came to mind. i like having fun in my cars, and i'd settle for low 13's to high 12's (or more, just depends). i don't drag race, but i use these numbers for an example. i am looking for the right mustang for $5000 or less. i want to know which mustang is best in that price range for speed (the $5000 is for the car only, not the mods). also, what mods would help the car you prefer?

i'll do some looking around too, but i didnt find anything about the different models i could work from.

thanks!

i would guess that 95% of the people here are going to recommend a 5.0 fox

probably a LX for the weight issue, and a 87-93 for the fuel injection reasons

you can probably find a decent one with 70K's for around that price

someothers will be along shortly im sure, but for a solid low 13 high 12 car, i think a 302 is gonna be your best bet (and most fun probably)

Yeah, 5k isn't alot, but you'll hopefully be able to pick up a fox around you. Parts are cheaper and there is more readily available for them too.
