Default Polishing wheels

K ive decided id like to start polishing my pony wheels on my 91. i know its gonna be a long process and im in no hurry to get it finished. i was jw if anyone had done this b4 and if so what was the prep on stripping the powder coating cleaning it etc. and also what kind of polish did u used and an estimated time it took to finsh them.

ya might want to rethink this the center caps can't be polished.

but if you insist your gonna need to have them bead blasted to remove the old finish then you will need to start with 400 grit sand paper wet sand them completley and work your way up to about 2000 grit then some good alumium polish. lots and lots of time.

that is too much work IMO - I think you shold just take them to get done professionally. That way there is no chance of ruining them.

it wouldn't bee that bad if you say live up north and your car was stored for 6 months with nothing else to do but the center caps really pose a problem

man, hella props if u polish them yourself. I read that it takes pros 8 hours per wheel, so you're looking at a huge investment if you do them yourself..
