Can't believe nobody's said K&N yet. K&N gets my vote, looks good too. Hurley, you're dreaming. The metal, shiny intake tubes look like complete ****. Rice in my opinion all the way.

dude, you have to be the dumbest guy to decide what is rice or not....you are back-***-wards....COMPLETLY....i cant beleive how dumb that sounds, think about it, ricer is cheap plastic chinsy lookin **** (im just saying in general) wouldnt you agree? JAPAN?? CHINA??? RICE!?!?! =plasitc....now muscle cars chromed EVERYTHING THEY CAN in the engine, have you ever been to a CAR SHOW? and if you say yes, and you think a chromed out 454 big block chevelle is ricer, you sir are a dumass, civics and ricer burners put on cheap *** plastic things to try to make it cheap....you are soo stupid if you disagree with that....i mean COME ON...chrome? RICER?!?!!? HAHAHAHAHHA where has some of these peoples heads gone??
Chrome cold air intakes are more prevalent on ricers and there is no denying that... Notice the top dynoed intakes for mustangs are JLT(plastic), densecharger(plastic), and K&N(plastic)... And what do you know, most people on this sight will suggest them also. But in comparison, there are those ebay and mac intakes... all CHROME!!!

I have a UPR CAI and it is chrome. I don't think it looks ricey at all. Oh, and I have chrome rims too. Is that ricey?

Im not saying chrome is ricey. I'm just using it to prove the fact that he called a densecharger intake ricey, which it is not in the least bit...

That's cool mang. I wasn't meaning to be defensive or anything. Honestly, I would have rather had a Densecharger, but the UPR I bought through Brenspeed was the first one I could find that the company would ship to FPO addresses.

Chrome != rice
Plastic != rice

Exaggerated/non-functional spoilers = rice
4" tips on the end of a stock exhaust = rice
Japanese writing = rice

But surely everyone can agree that plastic > chrome when you consider the heating issue that was brought to attention earlier in this thread.

ORIGINAL: 95Stealth302

If you want the BEST bang for your buck, in currency and performance, tunable induction is the way to go. Simple heat transfer laws will tell you that metal is much more retentive to heat than plastic. In a hot engine bay, you're MAC BBK or whathaveyou CAI's will get hot and warm up the air much more than Tunable's system will. Cooler air means denser and denser means more 02, and that means more power.

i was under the impression, that on a 99-04 GT a CAI was only worht like, 2 or 3 more hp than a K&N filter and then removing the silencer,, thats why anyone who knows better just buys a cheap o from ebay and gets the same result

maybe im wrong, i dont know for sure

I ripped my ebay CAI the other day to make way for the Tunable induction I have coming in. I can't say much to anyone about anything on account of lack of experience, but as far as CAI, I do not recommend just getting an Ebay system, nothing but problems.
