Default FX 2 Stats on a tune and Cold air

Just wanted to share this w/ everyone.

I have a Vector FX 2. It's a handy little device that measures 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, G's, horsepower, etc. The horsepower number is only as accurate as you make it...you have to ensure you put in the correct weight. But the 0-60 times are *supposed* to be fairly accurate...as are the 1/4 mile times. Either way, since I use this same device on my car, I can run my car stock and get numbers...make mods and get more numbers. It's a decent measuring stick for me. This is what I got with it:

0-60 Time Completely Stock: 5.55 AND 5.75
*Note: The day was about 65, sunny, I spun my tires all through first and a bit in second gear. I'm only on regular roads, not a track.

0-60 Time after XCT 2 and JLT Cold air Intake on 87 Octane tune: 5.23 AND 5.45
*Note: The day was about 48 degrees outside, sunny. The first run was best, but I had a lot of wheel hop. The second run I spun the tires really bad all through first and a bit in second gear. On reg. roads, not a track.

After I made the simple installation, I did notice a "seat of the pants" increase in acceleration. The car exhaust is also louder now...I guess opening up the breathing helped the sound as well....not sure. It's a good loud though

My MPG on 87 octane is around 19.6 and I've checked 3 times for about the same average (70% city, 30% hwy driving). I do have my foot in the gas a lot more now due to the better sound...I've yet to drive it somewhat normal.

I'm not certain of the accuracy of the above numbers, but I do believe that they are close. On a 1/4 mile track should obviously do better. Also, it's hard to run the full 1/4 mile...even though I have a few times. I run out of road or can't find a traffic free place to do it.

This is a good website for the Vector FX stuff. It's just a handy tool that some of you may find useful if you don't have the time to find a dyno everytime you make a modification. It kind of explains how it works as well.

Oops...forgot to post the website the 1st time

Me again...

I took "V8 Aggies'" Info for his time slips from his post here: https://mustangforums.com/m_1089850/tm.htm
The Vector FX 2 takes snapshots of those times also...and I compared my car to his.

V8 Aggie
60 ' - 2.1433
33 ' - 5.8141
1/8 - 8.8597
ET - 81.01 MPH

Me
60 ' - 2.10
33 ' - 5.90
1/8 - 8.98
ET - 79.60 MPH

I guess it might be pretty accurate...(maybe a little optimistic). From looking at his sig we have similar modified cars.

I'm only posting b/c I'm bored and I got all excited about how accurate this little thingy might be.

The only accurate 1/4 mile I think I got was a 13.92 @ 99.6 mph...and that was totally stock.
