Top Speed with tune job

RE: Top Speed with tune job
I imagine if your tune removes the rev limiter and lets you get more into the red line... that you'll be able to get more MPH out of it. I'd say probably 160? Though at those speeds... it really doesn't matter how fast you are going... I think most would agree that it's fast enough. Not often will you see yourself going those speeds, and if you do... Lets hope you have the proper ingredients to be able to keep the car to the ground, and your hood on. As well as some anti-police toys.

If your tune gets rid of the speed limiter like all do I think, than stock I think the car runs out at around 170 but it will take awhile to get there and there is no way to know without another speedo.

You can also use a handheld gps to get the speed reading. There was a member here from Germany that posted his top speed on the autobahn[sm=yikesomg.gif]

Not sure what a mustang will do w/ tune, but in stock form, no aero mods or performance mods, I had the opportunity make a top speed run in central Nevada. 1st off let me say as the previous owner of an 03 350Z, the Mustang is not near as comfortable or stable at high speeds as the Z. That basically comes down to aero, as the Mustang is pushing a lot of air, nearly up right grille air passing under car is greater, anything over 100mph is a little unsettling. The Z felt much more glued to the road and stable at high speeds, as I have taken it to 150mph and felt much more confident than the 145mph in the Mustang. At that speed the Mustang needed most of the road to to hold it and was much more of a handful to stay in a straight line, I think alot of the stability problem is related to the stock tires,as they seem to have alot of side wall flex.
