Default Methanol/Water injection

Has anyone used a methanol/Water injection on their 05-06? I am looking into the idea, and wonder just how necessary a re-tune will be with a boost cooler injection system. Does anyone have any info on this?

i have one on mine but i'm n/a. i did it just to keep the intake charge a stable and consistant temperature when racing. also put one on our dually turbo deisel. kick *** on the truck!
you don't need to retune it but to see the advantages of using the system you will have to. it will allow you to run more timing+it will cool the intake charge. hp increases depend on your boost levels and how efficient you intercooler is also the tune you currently have. i would safely say you will get 40-50hp through a retune on the dyno. just make sure they don't rely too heavily on the alky/h20 system for a/f enrichment. when it runs dry you could have a problem. it's always better to tune on the safe side ya know.

Thanks Spyder. I am still looking for the elusive tuner who can do anything to the roush computer. Although they have been great, warranty wise, I am nearly at the end of my warranty, and ready for more. They currently have a fairly conservative tune, but I am told that the computer will be able to adapt to the smaller pulley they just produced without retune. I like the detonation prevention offered by methanol/H2O injection, as well as any horsepower gain. Have you done anything to your fuel rails and injectors?

my fuel system is stock. since i don't run any power adders there really is no need for me to upgrade it yet. you may want to think about running a predator or xcal2 so you can get it tuned. maybe even call the guys at roush. i talked with them at the NMRA race in bradenton and they were great! they have a ton of stuff they are working on.it's worth a shot.
