Default S/C??

Hey people well I've been lurking quite a bit and was wondering if the Whipple has been unleashed yet or if its still being tweaked? Also, how are the Kenne Bell's treating people? Thanks

No whipple yet. Conversations two weeks ago with ford racing and whipple claim that the release date is now undetermined. So either they are having supply problems, or they blew up a test car.

Who knows. When it gets released I am fairly confident that whatever HP levels they come up with will be safe though. The pricing seems great so far but who knows.

The instalation is supposed to be alot easier and more factory fitting than a saleen and does not require screwing with the alternator and wiring, but they have no instructions to e-mail so that may be BS.

But even if they release it today. My attitide is let them sell 50-100 of them, let them hit the market and get debugged, then maybe I will bite.

At least they dont seem to be rushing to release them and in the process releasing a bad kit.

[&o]I tend to believe they are having problems getting the stock 3V to live. There is a pretty large potential market for a bolt on blower and continuing delays in releasing the FRP/Whipple kit suggest things aren't going well. Ford didn't equip it's factory blown engines with premium cranks, pistons and rods for no reason! It is also no coincidence that the blown Shelby GT500 has a lower static compression ratio either.

I can tell you from experience working for a large engine OEM that no news is usually bad news.

You must not have read the article on Blue Oval about the crank snouts snapping off on the Shelbys. Hardly a "premium" product.

I also read somewhere that there not using forged rods. WTF, and people are paying 2-3x sticker for a car that will see a production of up to 10,000 cars a year. SVT really went out bad on this one. But hopefully by time I save 10-13k or so I can build my motor and the whipple will finally drop. It should be a good kit seeing how ford helping whipple tune the kit.
