Nice - but it is VALVE covers not Cam cover...lol

Might want to look into fuel rails, braided fuel lines and some dress up caps inside the compartment to complete the look. Another suggestion would be to use a thermal heat shield wrap on your lines/hoses. In addition to being beneficial for blocking heat, they also look really trick and give your lines/hoses a mean look.

On a traditional overhead valve engine yes they are called Valve Covers. BUT on the overhead cam motors which is what the Modular V-8's are they call them cam covers because the cams are directly under them and they cover the cams. And although traditionally they are called Valve Covers Technically he is correct in calling them Cam Covers.

ahh but see this is a modular v8. the covers cover up the cams, which in an engine such as this, are right up top. in a pushrod v8, only the valves/lifter assemblies are up there, so thats what the covers are there for.

EDIT: ahh u beat me 2 it. and u said it better too.

Ahhh, but go to ANY company website and show me where they are calling them 'cam covers' for the S197? Not even on ebay pal...lol

They have always been and always will be called 'valve covers' no matter where the cams are.

Well here is one that calls them cam covers.

http://www.compositesworld.com/ct/is...05/April/788/1

And here is another.

http://www.promustangperformance.com/m-6582-3vb.html

And when BBK first came out with the 2V Cam Covers that is what they called them. Not sure why they switched but it is most likley do to people being confused.

LMAO - those were the worst 2 examples to prove your point you could have found... I asked for a REAL website...lol I was talking about a JDM, Summit, BMR, livernois, etc. etc. Buy hey, point taken - you were right. Must have searched high and low for those 2 crappy sites..lol

The main point is call them cam covers at the track or at a reputable shop and see how fast you are corrected.

Instead of fighing why not just call them something neutral and more descriptive?

How about "Redneck Rice"?

Actually - the pic that started this thread _almost_ makes me regret my matt-black Saleen - thanks for sharing...

I would actually have to drool if they were nickle and matched the deeper chrome on the KB...
