Default 2005 Not Starting Problem???

I've got an '05 GT with the 5spd that I have had since March '05. It has happened twice now where it decided not to start. The engine cranks over, but won't start. I can't tell if something is shutting off the fuel or spark, there are symptoms of both. The check engine light does not come on.

The first time it happened, I had just detailed the engine compartment - perhaps I had disturbed a wire. checked everything, looked fine. Tried to get a tow truck at 1AM, was on hold for 1/2 hour, tried to start it for the heck of it, and it started fine. No problems, and then about 2 months later, it happened again. This time, the car had been sitting in a driveway on a 90degree humid evening in Chicago. This time, if I just turned the key to "ON" I listened for the fuel pump, which I think I heard turning on, but it was not as loud as normal?

Anyways, I can't duplicate it, and I have an appointment to bring it in to the dealer. I don't know what they're going to do to - is there a TSB for this? Anyone here have or heard of anything like this?

Perhaps related, maybe not, if the A/C is on, low speed acceleration from a stop bogs once in a while. Enough to almost get me hit because the car didn't accelerate like I had expected. Again, can't duplicate it, it only happens once in a while.

Thanks

How long after a long trip for the tsb??? It was an hour and a half drive, and then the car sat for 7 hours.

based on your description of events, it sounds to me like a
wiring issue. possibilities:

a) dirty or corroded contact(s)
b) contact tolerance marginal (heat expands metal) etc.
c) cold solder
d) intermittent short or open between wires in the harness (heat/cold related)

I hope you get your baby fixed, so you can enjoy her and feel
confidant out on the open road once again.
