Default RE: no2 question

i talked to a N.O.S. rep back in march thru email about why there kit is limited to 75hp. because i want the NOS kit to push 125hp i will copy and paste his answer for you:

Hello,
Yes the solenoids will flow up to 150HP. However when the kit was
design there were no colder spark plugs or timing control devices
available so the kit was set up with a max of 75HP jets.

Thanks

Service Representative

Your question was:
hey i was wondering with your new 2005 mustang GT wet kit if its
possible to use your jets upto a 150hp shot. or would i need bigger
selenoids and jets? i want to use your product but i need more nitrous then
75hp...

If you have further questions, please reply directly to this email with
history without altering the subject line.

just to be safe i think I'm going to get a kenne-bell boost-a-pump before i install my nitrous with anything more then 75hp... anybody have any comments about that product???... i have never used one..

Thanks twist. I never heard of a "boost a pump" I will ask the shop boys about it if I go threw with the install. Also thats why I only wanted the 75 shot. I wanted the kick, but did not want to push the envelope to much. I still want my car to last a long time.(at least as long as I will be paying 4 it lol) Its only 6 months old or so. Drive normally when I want, drive like a beast when I want. Eitherway still be able to drive home afterwards and not ride on the back of a flatbed! lol

Thanks for the info and letter post!

Thats fine and dandy...But you know. No matter what you do, eventually, you'll come home from the track on a trailer. Everyone does...It's just a matter of time.

I asked Doug from Bamachips if he had a tune for nitrous, he answered me and said no , He further said he would not write one to send via mail, he would only do one using a dyno. He did say if I backed the timing off 6 deg. with his 89 oct tune would probably work but he did not know about the fuel. This is why I'm going to have Brent do the install and the dyno tune. Taking these pre-caustions I should be safe. You can harm your car any many ways and I know this is one easy way if its not done properly, but I don't think it will hurt anything if done right, and not abused. I do want to thank everyone for all the info.

cfr865--- yeah, I feel the same way as you. I guess the only thing that I am rolling around with is do I want to do this now or do my header and gear work now. I picture both installs being done and I get a little butterfly feeling in my stomach. FYI- when I say do the spray I mean if I dont do it now and go for the other stuff I will still do it later. Which ever one is left will get done next. I try to picture what I will get the most use out of. I know with out a doubt the spray will cost more. If there are no problems then the bottle alone over time will had up. On a day to day I will get more use out of gears and headers because I use them every time I start my car. I know I am going on a bit but it helps to see these words on screen to help me deside. Well either way you will see a post that either says. LT header and 4.10s installed or Look who just got the spray...lol Dunno??? Thanks anyway.

If you're going to spray it eventually, you might as well do the headers and gear first. With the stock exhaust, you're just going to blow harder through the same size straw. Know what I mean? Better exhaust means a better hit from the nitrous.

i love how this thread went from a colder plug question to cheating...

but i want my opinion heard just like you guys..

remrats- ever driven a car with nitrous on it? it has been around way longer then honda tuners... and i love the bottle.

my old roommates 91 foxbody 1/8mile car ran a 300hp shot off the line on 10inch wide wrinklewall's. its nasty power and deadly consistent. with 2spd powerglide it runs 5.59 in the eigth. shuts down and rolls thru the 1/4 at 9.90 at 115.

id be fine spraying a 125hp shot to my stang when i race so i dont have to use 4mpg everytime i drive to the track because the supercharger or turbo i would use to get that 125hp out of doesnt turn off like my bottle does...
just to clarify, only a supercharger reduces mpg, due to parasitic loss from the belts. Turbos will usually increase mpg or at least leave it as is (although it sometimes can lower mpg, due to lead foot syndrome).

Sidewayz6.0---I have Mac ab's. so far for exhaust. I see what you mean with the straw example, GOOD ONE! Hmmmmm, if I do 4:10s and the headers do you or anyone think I will get any hp gaine from that install? I know the gears will just help me get into the power band quicker or something but to be honest I still dont know how that works. I dont know if it means I have to shift faster than I would with stock or it means I can stay in a gear longer than I would with stock??

As for the headers I asked Brent from Brenspeed (well thats not true, it was Dave now that I think about it) Dave said they have not ran any specific test yet to see what the gain if any would be. They are schedule to take place soon. I guess before and after Dyno? So he could not answer me with fact statement on hp gain with the Lt's. Again, off topic from colder plugs but you guys have the answers right here so I dont want to waist a new post. Thanks

yeah, i dont know anyone who would put a turbo on there car and not use it. anytime that boost guage goes past zero your getting less mpg's then a N/A setup. i cant drive a car with power like a hearse. if my car has boost im rolling into it. and that needle isnt gonna read vacuum unless im at a light or in a parking lot. because i like turbo spool. if a put a turbo on my s197. i would get 9mpg or less average.
