FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
Installed the FRPP stingers today. Big difference in sound at start up, very deep. Pulse at low idle just right, slightly louder than stock, not obnoxious. At WOT, slightly louder than stock. The big difference is the deep resonation around town. There is some drone in 1300-2000 range with peak about 1700 RPM, but I like it as it sounds classic muscle.
The exhausts lined up perfectly, no adjust necessary and look great! I'm having a problem with the clamps, especially on the left. No matter how hard I tighten the pipe clamp, after I drive around a while, the muffler pipe slides back on the intermediate pipe about 3/8 of an inch. What can I do to keep the pipe seated? Has anyone else had this problem?

I installed the FRPP exhausts too and have had no problems what so ever. I tightened the hell out of them though...you have to collapse the nut into the metal strap so that it really begins sink in. ...Never moved an inch since install.

RE: FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
I had a problem with the drivers side pipe not sealing, but it never moved. I had to reposition the clamp several times and retighten to get a good seal. I didn't bother with the torque recommendations, I mean it's a freaking pipe, I'll torque it till it's tight and doesn't leak.

RE: FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
You have to place the clamp very close to the edge of the pipe between 1/8 and 1/4 inch... I have them and they are tight and leak proof and I did not have to torque them too much...

RE: FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
Well I had it at the edge of the pipe and I didn't think it was leaking until I placed a sponge full of soapy water on it.

RE: FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
My driver's side was hard to get tight. I moved the clamp as far to the end of the pipe as I could. I might have even put the joint of the clamp over the nib of the other pipe; I cant remember. I did tighten the hell out of it though. The clamps are pretty beefy and can take it.

RE: FRPP exhaust intstalled - Clamp Question
My passenger side was a huge PITA....It wouldnt stay tight for anything. I got it good and tight by the clamp down on the pipe more, not towards the edge. If you clamp it over than little stop where the exhaust slide into it will NOT stay tight and you won't get a good seal, just make sure the nut and bolt are aligned the right way so it the clamp will completely close, mine were all F-d up and the bolt was stuck kiddie corner.
