this ones for FORDFANBOY
I was reading that stupidly long post about Centris and came across this quote:
"I wantt o be able to go to the track once and awhile but primarily it is going to be a street car. I don't want to have to buy tires all the time so I want to stay with a lasting street tire as well. I'd like to make about 420-440 rwhp on the stock motor without worrying about it seeing daylight. I'm looking for quick and hard acceleration and also want the car to be able to handle well. I know I need to upgrade my suspension but as this is a daily driver, noise is a concern for me so I don't want to go overboard stiff. Any suggestions to a good set-up?"
and it fit perfectly for what I want out of my car. However the only thing I have to add is that it needs to be CARB legal as I am moving to CA.
So have at it boys..........

By a car for the road circuit, one for the drag strip, and one that you don't F with for the street.
If you want precise handling you are going to have noise.
Sticky tires won't last very long!
A stock car will let you drive around with out worrying about the tires or road noise.
You have to decide what you want. A car built to 450hp will require different things to handle well and go in a straight line well. If you know the direction you want to go it will make your life easier. If you want a good mix you will have to sacrifice either tires or road noise. You can combat road noise with a Dynamat style sound deadener. There is no help on the tires. If you want good traction, (which you need for both appications) you will lose tire life. Remember that a well setup road course car still has to accelerate fast.
Pick a direction and figure out what you can sacrifice.

LEAVE IT ALONE
if you want to go that ridiculous buy a second car for the track. otherwise your street car will become a race car that is miserable to drive. it sounds good now, but when you can't hear your stereo anymore, your race seats arent adjustable, everything rattles, and you have to stop every 100 miles to fill your fuel cell, you will look back and miss your street car lol
im just happy to go 12's with the a/c on and the stereo cranked up lol

put a blower on a stock stang GT. . . that should give you what you want. . .

At ~410-430RWHP it is still VERY streetable - even on stock tires and "nearly" stock suspension (yeah, yeah I am working on it). Sure you can smoke the tires at will, but you DO have to tell it to do so....
It isn't to the point that it shreds the tires in any gear without asking (that is about 550RWHP and up).
Saleen, KB, Whipple at 6-8PSI is a yawn for the stock engine if correctly tuned... Centri blower may need some more PSI to get you what I suspect you want on the bottom end (centri's need some RPMs to make their power)...
