Default Saleen Extreme Ed Upgrade

Just got my Saleen Extreme edition parts upgrade (or whatever it's called) installed today. Wow! I should add that I have an auto tranny, and some of you know that the tune for the standard gearbox has been out for a while. Where was I? Oh yeah--Wow! For those of you that might not know, the Saleen upgrade package is essentially 39# injectors, next smaller pulley, a bigger airbox cover, a uniform and fatter intake tube, and a new tune (there's also a new belt, a few screws, etc). I think there has to be a new mass air sensor but I can't recall and it's too late to go stumbling around for the manual.

Anyway, I thought the SC installed on the base engine was a increase in HP but, d@mn, this package feels like it doubled the horsepower increase from when I got the supercharger. Considering the cost of the upgrade versus the cost of the SC versus the increase in performance--it's money well spent, IMO! I highly recommend you do it--it's sweet.

The first thing I noticed other than a slightly louder growl at startup was when I first applied gas--it lurched! It also feels smoother especially at the higher RPM's. It's definately stronger. Naturally with the increase in HP comes faster acceleration through the RPM range. I can hardly contain myself. It's 1 a.m. and I want to go for another drive. THe other thing I noticed is the how little gas/peddle is now required to get the wheels to spin. I've done it accidentally and the low end increase n performance is going to take a bit getting used to. I should have such troubles.

There is no MAF, I just put the kit on mine, you just reuse the stock MAF. The tune is very lean, too lean for my taste, so i got another tune just to be safe. It might just be my car or the tune, just make sure you listen in case of detonation at high RPM's.

Using the stock MAF will make you run leaner, because it's voltage max's out. JDM reccomends the lightning style 90mm MAF. That's what I'm using and have no problems.

I have the JDM setup on order right now, but I had purchased the upgrade hoping to not have to buy any more upgrades, so I ended up paying twice as much as I should have.
