Typically premium gas is 20 cents more per gallon than 87 in the US. For a 13-gallon fillup, that's $2.60. At common mileage it's less than $100 per year. That's one of the cheapest performance upgrades you can make.
I couldnt agree more.

Don't be a puss... What is the price per gallon difference going to cost you? $3 per tank MAYBE. Good gawd, if $3 per tank is going to kill you you shouldn't have bought a Mustang.
that the computer is expecting the sensor to be seeing. If the actual airflow traits are not the same as the stock MAF housing you can all kinds of problems like lean or rich mixtures and check engine lights. Do it right or expect mediocre results and problems with A/F ratios and funny little engine error lights on you dash.

+3...

If you don't want to tune the granatelli works well. I just installed mine and was suprised how much more power I could feel. I have not had it on the dyno. It is an easy install and if you later want to get a tune it can add more power.

Hey, PROMETHEUS PRIME, I didn't think the GT500's front splitter would fit on the GT. How is the fit overall and did you have to modify your fascia to make the splitter fit snug all the way across?

[edit]
And does it make a difference with front end lift at speed?

83 oct cost me 2.10 a gallon; at 14 gallons thats about 30 bucks. if i were to get 91 or 93 (not sure which one we have here) and it about a 30 cents increase making it 2.40 at 14 gallons is about 34 bucks; so yes; 3 to 4 dollar more. doesnt sound that bad to me but since im in college and i feel up no less then once a week that close to 20 bucks a month.

thats 240 a year extra, thats extra on gas. thats a nice intake right there. Doesnt mean i dont want a tune; thats why im here asking... but that alot of money to be throwing around; but you guys prove alot of great points. I didnt think about the motor runing lean, etc. and i thank every one for their help.
