I have decided to go with C&L CAI and the canned 91 octane tune from the manufacturer of this awesome cold air intake system. I have been driving the car now for almost 2 weeks and I've had some good experiences with this new system. Although I would say that in the morning when it is cold you can hear a slight drone sound. Not too bad. It goes away once the car warms up a little. It sounds like something hollow. Is this a typical sound of the C&L CAI and predator 91 octane tune?

Are there lots of users with the predator tune? And why would you choose the SCT vs Predator?

P.S. I love the throttle response now. I think this modification added at least 10 HP. Will adding new axle-backs such as corsa or boral add more HP??

I have the C&L with Predator 93 and it is great. Haven't heard the noise. You probably have added more like 20 horses.

Cant say I noticed any added "drone" with a CAI and tune but it is possible.

The muffler question has been discussed to death so to get more complete answer use the seach. Here is the short version. Corsas have no drone and may add some HP, otherwise they are stictly a add on for better sound, not HP. Stingers have a little drone but its not near as bad as others.

You may have gained about 15 rwhp or so. If you think that you like the car now get a Brenspeed or B amaships tune and you will add 25+ HP and it will transform the car into another animal all together. And I would highly recommend B ama since you have a predator.

howarmat is right, get a custom tune and you will really appreciate the CAI. I did had the canned 93 tune with a Diablo then got a custom tune. Big difference.

+1 on the B-ama tune for the Pred. Dougs tune rocks!! I have his 91 Torq and it was a MAJOR improvement over the canned 91 OCt Pred tune.

I just ordered my C&L CAI like 15 minutes ago. I'm hoping Ba-machips will update my current 93 performance tune for me

I have had the C&L and flowmasters since last friday. the difference is there, but I'm gonna wait with the custom tune for a few more. Only have 1800 miles and I don't want to push it right from the start.
The canned tune lets me go to 6500 rpm now. it's app. completely different now compared to the 05-06's (I have the diablo 7145 )
I'll wait a bit and then start modifying my suspension before I'll go for the custom tune.
