who in the hell inspects you, i havent had my car a year yet, but are you saying that in a year some mystery guy is going to knock on my door and say he wants to inspect my car?????

im not sure if its the same for all states.. but i assumed all states have some sort of inspection, but in texas you have 2 stickers that have to be on your windshield both have month/year. when that expires you have to take it to a shop and have an inspector inspect it torenew your inspection sticker, if you dont then legally you cant drive your car on the road anymore

It’s the same in VA, annual state inspections. I live in an area that doesn’t require emissions testing, as some counties do, but one of the things the inspectors look for are cats. They are not fussy about type but you better have some on the exhaust and they check that the cats are not a hollowed out shell also.
