Default Question About B&M Shifter

I bought a B&M short throw for my 06 GT and was pretty happy until recently. At first the shifter felt like I thought it should, notchy and quick. Lately it seems just as sloppy as the stock shifter.

Now last night I checked underneath to make sure nothing was loose, I was able to tighten up the two mounting studs and that seemed to help. But it still feels like mush compared to the day I put it in. My imagination says this is probably normal do to breaking in.

During the install the directions called for re-using the stock bushing. My question is, are these bushings universal in shape and fit, meaning if I bought a bushing kit say from Steeda, would it fit and would also tighten up the shifter?

Thanks in advance!

Not trying to high-jack your thread, but I have a B&M that was installed on my car before I got it. It was short and crisp when I first got it but it started to feelloose when I looked the front mounting bolt was gone and I alsonoticed the factory rubber bushings. I love the shifter though that is when its bolted up haha. Do you know what size bolt that is on the front mounting spot???

Yeah I would expect missing bolts will do that. But I did verify everything is intact. Of course I bought my shifter slightly used myself and it looks like it doesn't come with any upgraded bushings, hence why they recommend using the factory one

So which bolt are you talking about? The control arm attachting to the trasmission? Probably not since that would prevent you from selecting gears. If your talking about the one on the shifter, at the bottom of the pivot bearing, I think you would have to get that from B&M. Could be wrong though.

Anyone still know the answer to my question, about upgrading from the factory bushing to a performance one?

I almost 100% sure the aftermarket will fit, but hopefully someone else can say for sure. The bolt I am missing is the one that goes through the bushing on the front arm attachment. not the control arm but the arm beside it.
