So it’s “not recommended by ford” instead of an installation issue. Now if we could instigate a price war between Saleen and Whipple and KB we would all be happy.

Ok newb question time. Why is the 500 hp whipple for manuals only? Is it because the auto can’t/won’t handle that much, mounting problem, you will wear out the auto sooner, or something else? Everyone else, KB, Saleen, NOVI, etc..., will gladly sell you a kit that makes more than 400 hp.
Whipple offers superchargers for autos but only up to 7psi, You can always use a smaller pulley but then you'll be on your own, probably because you'll be exceeding the torque rating of the auto transmission, but I am only guessing here.
I am pretty sure prices will drop when the new generation Mustang arrives, by then current S197 R&D expenses will be paid off and premiums will go to the new models.
