gearing up with a centri?

gearing up with a centri?
2 points: since a positive displacement blower rips with low end torque, and therefore doesn't need gears, since a centri blower has a linear power curve, would gearing up slightly, to, lets say 3.90's, be a gainful move?

gainful is relative to your goals

yeah, i was afraid you were gonna say strip cause
that's where it can get complicated......i know there are
some calculations you would do, to determine exactly
which gear ratio you would want, based on how you want
to finish the 1/4.... ie. which gear, what rpm etc.
