Default Quick tuner question PLEASE!

Alright so I just found a tuner on here for a good deal. It's an Xcal2. It has a 91 octane tune on it for an 06 GT auto. What would I have to do to get it to work for my car? I'd have to get a new tune correct? Would I have to do an email can tune, or could I go to the performance shop down the road and have them throw a tune on it for me? I'm really new to the tuning thing, and I'd really appreciate the help. What kind of tunes should I get? What kind of difference does it make the car? Need responses asap cuz I need to buy it before someone else does!!!!!!

Thanks

Unless the other guy had the same program (4 digit code near your fuse box) the tune is worthless. He may have also had some other performance parts added to it which would alter the tune. You can get a tune e-mailed to you from Brenspeed or another tuner provided you have the cables to hook up to your computer. You can also take your tuner to a local shop and have them custom tune it (which is a better option). For the time being, if you're only putting on a CAI or one bolt-on, I would just go with a Brenspeed tune (I am very happy with what they gave me). If you're going to change the pulleys and put longtubes and headers on, don't waste your money on a dyno tune now. Wait until you have all the stuff in, then get the custom tune. I think the Brenspeed tunes are about $75.

My car isnt auto and I dont plan on using the tune that is already on there. I think I am going to go to the performance shop now and see what they have to say. They are an SCT dealer.
