My buddy mentioned to me that when he was working on another GT that had Bassani LTs the steering shaft was ran through the header. It just depends on what brand you go with if you will need to take it off or not. But you may need to take it off for more room. Like I said before we dropped my whole k-member out so we had all the room in the world.

It is time consuming more than anything... All you have to do is remove your midpipe/cats... take off the starter... and take the engine mounts out one at a time in order to get the headers unbolted and the new ones in...

If you don't do the install yourself, your hands will thank you... You'll have plenty of cuts, trust me on that... With my American Racing Headers, some of the new header bolts were a PITA to reach. I believe there were two on the driver side that were really hard to get in but again all in all it's just time.

Took me 6 hours with hand tools between 3 days and in 2 hour increments.

Just headers took me about 8 hours the Kooks instuctions BLOW!!! They didn't even mention taking off the steering column that install was a bigger PITA than anything else but I'm glad I did it myself If you're gonna but headers you might as well do a full exhaust like me Good Luck!

or you could just do LTs, mid pipe and leave the stock mufflers/catbacks so you have somewhat of a sleeper. If you do Long tubes you have to do a midpipe.

If I were to put mufflers on my car it would be pretty damn loud since I have an off road mid pipe. But since I did it thr way I did it sounds quiet at idle and not too loud on acceleration, At WOT it sounds pretty nasty.
