depressed about my stang

RE: depressed about my stang
Ford has a HP problem in the engine line up right now. Their 1/2 ton trucks come in last in every single towing acceleration comparison with other trucks in their class. Ford needs to replace the 4.6/5.4L with an entirely new design; the new 5.0 may be the start. I understand that dodge is going to start offering the 6.1L/425hp hemi (ala SRT) as the optional V8 in their trucks and the 5.7L will be standard. This will put Ford 125hp behind.
I'm 40 years old and in general, the past ford engine line up was always slightly behind in HP from chevy & chrysler. There were always exceptions, but in general.

RE: depressed about my stang
we should have an optionfor like 6k more (base model, no luxury), and Ford should call it SVT Mustang (Not shelby cobra). Sporting at least a forged 5.0producing at least 400hp N/A. Now THAT would be bad ***...
Not having to pay 60k for the Shelby GT500, I would really consider paying 6k more for a SVT Mustang...
Since I also live in Mexico, we are stuck with the Mustang GT and v6 available to us, no Shelbys or Saleens here.
But I am extremely happy with my stang btw... its a chick magnet

all i wanted to do by writing this post was to address the fact that fords V8's are lacking in the HP department. A 5.0 3V/4V making 400HP and take away fancy radios, leather seats, and other aesthetic "must haves" and you could produce a killer stang. Anyways, im just saying a 5.0 engine would make the stang competitive even w/o bolt ons. But whatever, ford seems to like its underpowered V8s and wants to stick with them for some time to come
