Default wideband a/f gauge question

i read a post that said you have to bung a weld in front of your catalytic converter in order for this gauge to work with the o2. Will this gauge work with an o/r x-pipe?

yes it will work on an O/R H or X pipe. if you have the rear sensors turned off in the tune you can just remove a stock one and screw in the wideband. that what i did and it works great. i just taped up the unused connector so it won't get dirt in it.

You want to keep the sensor as close to the engine as you can. The exhaust heat plays a part in keeping the sensor at its proper temp, even tho most are self heated. On average, if you put one sensor in the tailpipe and one sensor at the header, the header will read between .2 and.5 AFR richer (and truer) than the tailpipe sensor from what I have seen, and depending on cats/no cats etc..

So long as it's in front of the cat, yep Was just trying to avoid the inevitable "So if I put it in my tailpipe and just add .5 afr to it, I'll be fine" kinda questions... lol.

Well seeing i have no cats i just have the bung where the cat should go that is what I would have to use.
