Default Regular Gas

Being new to the owing my first 4.6 GT I was excited about the fact that I could burn regular gas and have some nice torque and horsepower.
I was wondering what performance mods I could do to increase performance while being able to still run regular gas?

Cold air intake and a tune. Do a search. Lot's of info on CAI's and tuners on the forum. They'll add about 20-30 hp for about $550-$650.

So NUKE, are you saying that I can go with a Tune with increased HP and still run regular gas? Does it depend on the tune it's self?
I knowmy questions may seem simple but some of list refer to using high octane gas with the tunes.
I been looking at seveal CAI's and have gathered a lot of information to the point to where it is confusing.

yes, you could spend $600 for a cai + 87 octane tune, if
that's what you want to do.

you'll always have the option to run the 91 or 93 tune, some
time down the road.....

I purchased a CAI and XCal tuner from Brenspeed.com. On the phone they asked me what tunes I wanted. I received 87, 91 and 93 octane. The difference is mainly in the timing of the car (the more you advance the timing the higher octane you need to run). The 87 octane CAI/Tune combo makes quite a big difference - quicker throttle response and more "seat of the pants" horsepower. There are also tunes for mileage and torque and probably a few others. All they do is manipulate your car's computer to maximize the desired area.

Ok guys thanks. That gives me more of an idea of how I might initiate my plan.
I just looked at CAI and XCal tuner from Brenspeed.com and was trying to figure out if the software comes with the XCal for your laptop.
As I put togeather my plan buy applying the parts to the car I guess I can tune it as I go?
Has anyone ever tuned one of the XCal's without a pre loaded tune for additionalthings such as exhaust and X /H Pipes?
Also does anyone know if there is a site where you could download tunes for free?

UDPs and aluminum drive shaft will help as well.

I have a jlt2 and brenspeed tunes. I have the 87, but always run the 93. Much more power and gas mileage in my case...
