Default Am I being patient enough?

To make a log story short, I had this transmission shop rebuild my auto tranny when my right foot and S/C burnt out my 3rd gear. He does the work and gives me a 15 month guarantee. Well the other day while putting on my Spyder driveshaft I noticed tranny fluid leaking from the front and rear seals. I take the car back to him and he's had it for over a WEEK now. It's only a one day job, but he keeps coming up with excuses why my car isn't done. I'm pissed. I feel like I'm stuck, because if I **** him off then who knows when he will get to it. I don't know what to do. I feel he's puting other jobs ahead of me, because he knows he's not getting a dime from me. Even though the first time he did get 1600 bucks of mine.

That depends do you have another car for transportation? That would be my logical question, but i know that if i was in your position i'd demand a straight answer as to why it's not done yet. Bother him day after day until he either gives you a straight answer or fixes it.

At my shop as with any other I'd guess, that is called a "COMEBACK" and she-ite like that should get head of the line priveleges. I'd calmly explain you have been more than patient and dont feel he is treating you right. A pissed customer will let all their friends know about their ordeal alot more than a happy customer will sing the shops praises. I'd let him know that too.

I had to take my tranny back twice because OD kept failing. The last time (Nov 06) he had it for 3 weeks because he was waiting on the parts. Call him daily to get a status but don't **** him off. You don't want him to half *** it just because you want your car back and then have to turn around and take it back a month later. Sometimes you just gotta wait.

Maybe he has a booked shop...other jobs paying $$$, whereas your is not. Should notmatter though, if he has any customer service. I wouldn't push him just let.

I think he should not be putting a guarantee on his work if he doesn't want to live up to it. But, like you said, maybe he is as busy as he says.

His is a better guarantee than mine was. Mine wasfor 12 months or 12,000 miles and I paid over $2k. Sounds like the guy is working on it, just not as fast as we would like.
