zkiller, to make a long story short I had my tranny rebuilt when my 3rd gear clutches burned up. When I got it back from them my front and rear seals leaked tranny fluid.
My brother is going to put it up on his hoist tomorrow to have a look. Must be nice to have a lift in your garage. Anyway, I hope we figure it out while we are under it looking around.

is it on accel or decel or both? it sounds to me like you just need a little tweak on the pinion angle. sometimes you can remove the rear flange bolts and rotate the shaft to the next set of bolt holes and see if it helps any. Ford put about 3-4 sets of holes in the flange for that reason. not sure what causes it but sometimes the trans and rear don't phase at certain positions.
as far as the engine mounts go unless you have lowered or raised the engine a bunch it shouldn't affect performance to much but it does change the driveshaft angle.
we can always try another shaft if you want. just shoot me a PM or email me.

I put it on the next set of holes and it seems to have gotten better. I might try and move it to the next set of holes. I noticed they had 3 of the 4 bolts gorilla tight. Thanx guys for the help.
