Default Passenger Airbag off ???

Hey Guys,

Lately the passenger airbag lighting has been lighted more often then i'm used to.
I'm getting a bit concerned. It only used to be lighted when i just started the car
and it would go off after a minute or 2. But now it just seems to light during regular driving (no hard accelleration/braking, just light cruisin).., and it stays lighted almost the whole time while driving.

Does anyone have an idea what might cause this to happen this frequently?

Default RE: Passenger Airbag off ???

Do you have something (even a large book will do it) on the seat? Ford's "Standard Occupant Sensing" keeps the passenger airbag off (with no light) when there is no weight in the seat. If there is weight but it is less than a certain amount (70 lbs?) then it keeps the airbag off but turns on the light. Otherwise the airbag is always on (with no light of course).
