I will see how much hp will keep me happy on the stock block/sc..450-470whp are still some awesome numbers, not exactly slow or anything...
Without drag radials and upgraded suspension, you wouldn't know what to do with that kind of power anyway. Atleast not from a dead stop.

Tune is the most important. Built motor will still blow with a crap tune. Find a good, reputable tuner. Dont rely on canned tunes. Get the canned tune, go straight to your tuner and get it fine tuned to your car.

I disagree with "# of psi=stock limits", does not apply to all cars at least.

Get a safe tune and run high octane gas and all is well.
You can safely run 10-12 PSI if you do this.

IF you have an automatic stang, theres no point in buying a Forged Assembly since you can´t go over 8 - 9 psi safely because of your transmision. If you want to play 12 psi with no worries, u´ll need to upgrade both engine and tranny. I bet the auto tranny will give up first than the engine even at 10 psi.

And the worst part of it, is that a beefed up 5R55S is even more expensive than a forged assembly. [&:]

I was under the impression that the stock auto could hold up to more power than the 5 speed. Is the stock auto really weaker?

Yes, 3rd gear is the main problem.

Even when you buy a whipple H.O. kit, autos get a 7 or 8 psi pulley to keep it safe.

there was a member by the name of heavyG78 (or something like that) that uses his tuner device to lower the pressure in 3rd gear to help with it's longevity and less shock to it.
Not sure the exact process but from he's said it works.

dude..correct me if I am wrong but 10psi even 9psi with the paxton is 480whp..
that and being full bolt on would surely be more then enough power for me lol.

It depends, can´t say u´ll have the same performance with a centri SC and a TS SC both at 480rwhp.
