they said the ring lance was lifting. I looked into the borriscope and saw a 1/4 inch raise on my number 1 piston. Hopefully it was just that piston and they will replace it and be done with it, but if not...Im looking at a whole new rebuild. That motor has only 10 k on it. Is there some kind of fault with KB? This will be the 3rd motor put into it if they cant do a rebuild or a quick fix. They are going to put it on a dyno and tune it after they work their magic. I took it to Murillo motorsports in san antonio texas. They work mostly with boosted stangs.
That sucks! If I buy a built block from MMR or some other builder, i expect the thing to last. I'm still not sure what you mean by scare, is there a crack or piece missing?

So who tuned the car before?

it looks as if the piston has a scar. They told me the ring lance was lifting on the piston. In other words piston failure.
