Default tune question

hey guys got a question for you all..i installed the C&L CAI and the tuner combo from brenspeed.. and i started with the 87 tune and it was great!!!! but then i went up to the 91 tune ( highest octane available in my city) and it seems i actually lost a lil power.. and yes i did the 2 tank thing.. anyone else experience that? seems like it was easier to chirp them with the 87

Yes, the 87 custom tune is hands-over better than the stock 87 tune. As far as losing power with the 91 tune, I wouldn't say "losing" power is what I noticed. I have the 87, 89 and 93 tunes from Brenspeed. But I DID noticemy 93 tune pulls harder in the upper bands than the 89 tune does. My 89 tune pulls harder in the lower RPM range than the 93. I've never loaded the 87 tune.

I've noticed the same thing as you did nuke, I run my 89 tune more than the 93 because I do mostly around town driving and I think it pulls harder down low than the 93 does IMO. I have ran my 87 tune fora while and it is DEFINITELY worth the extra 10 cents a gallon more for the 89 over the 87.

mine felt the same way, it felt like the 87 tune was stronger than my 93. I even called brenspeed to see if maybe the tunes got labled wrong like my 87 tune was really my 93 tune. So ive been thinking about just going to a shop and getting a custom dyno tune

Hmmm. I may try the 89 tune to see for awhile. Doesn't hurt to try it out.
